Mini Beauty Haul - Topshop, MAC, Ardell

Hi Guys!

To get myself started back into blogging I thought i'd show you just a couple of bits that i've recently picked up. I've tried to not spend too much money in January but I was in Amsterdam a couple of days ago for my boyfriends birthday so passed duty free and I also had a Topshop voucher. So here's what I got...

MAC Stone Lipstick

I've wanted this lipstick for what seems like forever since I've heard so many Youtubers raving about it. I'm yet to try it but love how it looks and it is such a unique colour for me as it's something I'm not used to. Hopefully you'll see this in a favourites post soon!

Topshop Mink Lipstick

As I said I had a Topshop voucher and I took this oppurtunity to try out one of their lipsticks. I swatched all the colours that my local store had but this is the one that stuck out most to me. I worn it a couple of times in the last week and I love it, it's the perfect browny mauve shade and is so creamy. I definitely want to pick up more shades of the Topshop lipsticks as supposedly they're made in the same factory as MAC and there formulas are identical.

Ardell Natural Demi Wispies

Another product I've wanted to try for so long, mainly because of Youtuber Nicole Guerriero. I have no eyelash application skills so I always give up and end up just packing on mascara instead but supposedly these lashes are great for beginners and are also stunning so i'm ready to give them a go!

Formula 10.0.6 Pores Be Pure Skin-Clarifying Mud Mask

Another product I picked up in Topshop mainly because I love face masks. At the moment I pretty much only use the Mask of Magnaminty from Lush but I want to try out some new great, affordable ones. I got this mask in the scent strawberry + yarrow so i'm interested to see how this makes my skin feel as it's meant to target clogged pores.

MAC Ellie Goulding I'll Hold My Breath Blush/Bronzer Duo

Last but not least is this MAC duo. Personally I'm not bothered by Ellie Goulding as a singer but I really did love the look of this collection. I only picked up this product however because I thought it would be perfect for travel as it is a 2-in-1 product. I've tried out the bronzer a few times now and its a sheer natural pretty bronze but I do really like how it sits on my foundation. I am yet to try the blush as to me it is more of a spring/summer colour but it swatches very creamy and pigmented.

That's all the products i've picked up recently so I hope you enjoyed! If there's any new products you recommend let me know!

Thanks for reading,
Beth xoxo

Life Update - Back At It

Hey Guys!
It's literally been 8 months since I last blogged but I got lazy, didn't blog for a while and thought it was too far gone to save, but I'm back to start again and give it another try.
I've got SO much more makeup to share since I last blogged and like to think my skills might have improved? I've been working a lot at Uni and also have been working on my music a lot which is again why my blog did not survive the last 8 months....
Aiming to post once a week or thereabout so we'll see how it goes! In the meantime here's a recent picture of me from Christmas time and I hope to be back soon! Also not too keen on my actual blog name.... any suggestions? Social media links are all below!

Tartelette Palette Review and Swatches

Hi Guys!
Sorry that it's been a while but I had a bit of an accident last week and fell and cut my face so no tutorials for a while!
Anyway I picked up the Tarte Tartelette palette last month after waiting forever to get my hands on it! It's difficult to get Tarte in the UK so I ended up getting it on amazon for a little bit more than the normal price.

The palette is a combination of the perfect neutral matte shades and is paired into 3 lines which almost create looks in themselves. My favourite line is the middle as it creates a pinky mauvey Kylie Jenner look. The shades are not the most pigmented in the world however they are so creamy for a powder and blend to perfection.

I've swatched all of the shades on my arm in order.....
From left to right - Free Spirit, Force of Nature, Dreamer, Multi-tasker, Caregiver, Natural Beauty, Best Friend, Bombshell, Super Mom, Wanderer, Power Player, Fashionista

Overall I think this palette has a great combination of matte shades; especially neutrals and there are so many great looks to be made. As for quality I think there are better on the market as individual shades however I am yet to find such a great all matte palette.

Hope you enjoyed!

MAC Outlet Haul

Hi Guys!
It feels like it's been forever since I last blogged and it literally has been nearly a month! I've had a lot of work on and it was also my birthday at the end of April so i've been all over the place but I finish my first year of uni on Monday so i'm aiming to get back on track with posting from then!

I went to Liverpool for the first weekend of May and while I was there I visited a little makeup outlet store so I thought i'd show you what I picked up! I will leave a link and all the information about the store at the end of the post. The store sells everything at a reduced price however it is usually old collections or limited edition items that are no longer being sold.

The first two things I picked up were two nail varnishes in the shades Rain of Flowers (Left) and #Obsessed (Right). They are both beautiful colours and I picked them up for £7 each instead of £10 RRP. Rain of Flowers looks like a dark navy blue with purple reflects in the bottle but when applied to the nail it is the other way round, a dark purple with blue reflects.

#Obsessed is a pink with glitters of silver, blue and green. In my swatch (below) I applied two coats of each but personally I would apply #Obsessed over a pink colour varnish to make the glitters pop more as I think it's perfect for summer!

I picked up two eyeshadows in the shades Bamboo (Left) and Yogurt (Right). They are both matte shades and I had actually been looking at buying Yogurt for my collection so was so surprised to see in the outlet store! I got them for £9.25 each instead of £13 RRP which is a great deal.

Bamboo is a light orange brown and Yogurt is perfectly named with it being a baby pink chalky yogurt shade. They are both perfect for spring and summer and Bamboo seems like the perfect staple crease colour. I have a MAC palette so will be depotting them both.

Lastly I got a Fluidline Eye Pencil in the shade Black Brilliance. I am yet to try this eyeliner but it swatches incredibly black and very smooth so i'm hoping it will be a new favourite! I picked this up for £11 instead of £15.50 RRP.

That's all I picked up so I hope you enjoyed! As I said I will leave all information about the store at the bottom of the post as they not only sell MAC but Estee Lauder, Clinique, Smashbox and many other brands so it's definitely worth checking out! I will be posting some tutorials soon so look out for those! Speak soon,
Beth xo

First Impressions: Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation

Hello!
Last week I picked up a couple of new foundations as my beloved L'oreal True Match was on it's way out... I didn't want to rebut it just yet as foundations are something I never really try out and experiment with so I thought it was time to try some new ones!

I picked up the Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation as I personally prefer a more dewy look and I've heard so many bloggers and friends rave about it. I've tried it out a few times now and it's definitely become my new everyday foundation. It is incredibly dewy and like the name states does give your skin a healthy glow. At first, the shade I picked seemed slightly yellow but once the rest of my makeup was done it matched my skin perfectly.

Even though it is meant to be a dewy finish, I think that this foundation definitely needs a powder over it as it can look slightly wet. Because of this it almost mixes with my concealer so I make sure to powder before I add any more layers. This foundation has now become a staple in my collection and I would definitely recommend it! I picked it up for £9.99 at Superdrug UK which for a foundation didn't seem to expensive.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone however it will work best will normal/dry and dry skin types. What foundation have you guys been loving? I'd love to try some more dewy finish foundations out!
Hope you enjoyed/found this useful!

Spring Makeup Essentials

Hi Guys!
As the weather has been amazing recently in the UK and we're finally in spring, I thought I'd do a post on my spring makeup essentials! Some of these products are new to my collection and some I've had forever! So here's my picks...

MAC Strobe Cream

I've recently been using this under my foundation as a base or mixed in with it to add a beautiful natural glow to the skin. It's perfect for spring/summer as it creates a dewy finish to any foundation without looking sweaty. I will be buying the full size of this soon!

MAC Face and Body Foundation

I have this shade a bit darker than my normal skin colour as I use it when I'm tanned - especially on holiday. Its a water based foundation and is so light weight on the skin so is perfect for summer! Its also waterproof yet still gives good coverage. My perfect summer foundation!

MUA Spring Break Eyeshadow Palette

I only picked up this palette today but the colours and pigmentation are amazing for just £4! The light blue shade (Bottom row, 4th in) is the perfect spring shade for adding a pop of colour to any look! I love using these shades to smoke out my lower lash line for a more wearable colourful look.

MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Soft and Gentle

I don't have many highlighting products but this is definitely my favourite. Again doing the same as the Strobe Cream, this is perfect for a dewy glowing look. I apply this on the very top of my cheekbones with a fan brush and it gives the most beautiful radiant glow!

Sleek Matte Me Lip Cream - Petal

I also only picked this product up this morning but have been wearing it all day and loving it. I have a red from this Matte Me collection and think the formula is incredible. They apply as a lip cream or liquid lipstick and within a minute they are completely matte and will not budge. I love a matte lip and think that this colour is perfect for spring!

MAC Dreaming Dahlia

Tanned skin and coral lips is always the dream look for me during summer. I picked this lipstick up last year and I'm pretty sure it was from the 'A Fantasy of Flowers' MAC collection but don't quote me on that... There's so many good coral/orange lipsticks at the drugstore however this is my favourite coral shade that I own! A definite must for summer.

MAC Kelly Yum-Yum

This lipstick was from the Kelly Osborne collection at MAC and the colour to me just screams summer! I find it so hard to wear these bright pink lip colours during winter as I personally just don't think it looks right so I'll definitely be getting good use out of this in the upcoming months! MAC no longer sell this lipstick however it is almost identical to their shade 'Candy Yum Yum' so check it out!

That brings me to the end of my Spring Makeup Essentials! Are there any products you can recommend to me for spring? I will be doing a tutorial soon and will incorporate some of these products into it!
Hope you enjoyed,
Beth xo

Hot Or Not - Kiko Face Makeup Fixer

Hello!
Just a quick post today as I've been having a very busy Easter so haven't had much spare time, but from this week will be back to posting more than once a week! I picked up the Kiko Face Makeup Fixer online a few weeks ago just because I was intrigued by the name and thought it would be a great setting spray! I've now used it at least 5 times if not more and to me it disappointingly is just a light hairspray without the hold...

Kiko claim that the spray is 'Fragrance Free' but when I first sprayed it, it smelt (and tasted) just like a chemical filled hairspray. It doesn't leave the face slightly hard or sticky like a normal hairspray would but it also didn't fix any of my makeup or personally make my makeup stay on longer than normal. I'm definitely going to keep trying out this product just in case anything good does happen, but for now this product is way more NOT than it is HOT for me!

That's it for this post, I'll have some spring makeup tutorials and favourites up in the next few weeks as the weather in the UK has just got a lot warmer!
Hope you enjoyed,
Beth xo
