March Favourites

Hello!
March for me was a month of holding onto winter colours and experimenting with browns and mauves and golds! My goal for april is to use more colours so hopefully I will have some spring makeup looks up soon! I seemed to buy quite a few lip products this month whereas for all of my other products I shopping my collection and reliving old products of mine! So here's my favourites...

1. Creighton's Perfectly Clear Calming Spot Gel

I'm starting with a random skincare product as this has honestly saved my life this month. I can't remember where/when I bought this product but I remember it being £1-£2. I've been trying out lots of different skincare this month and so my skin has been all over the place and has been trying to break up quite a lot. As soon as I feel any sort of break out of blemish on it's way I leave a dab of this on overnight and by the morning 9/10 times it's gone! I'm running low so will have to hunt this down soon.

2. MAC Strobe Cream

As the weather's been getting a little better recently i've been really into a more dewy finish to my skin and MAC Strobe Cream is perfect for this. I mix a little bit in with my foundation and it gives me a perfect glowing finish. This is also great for mixing into foundations that are too dark for your face as it will make it lighter and blend out evenly. I know i'll be using this a lot as it gets more into summer!

3. MAC Mehr

I got this recently as a free Back 2 Mac item and wrote a review on it which you can read here. I love this shade for all sorts of looks and it pairs perfectly with my favourite MAC Lipliner Whirl. I'd never seen it before in MAC but was is the perfect mauve- brown matte shade.

4. No.7 Precision Lip Pencil - Nude

Alongside MAC Whirl, this is my all time favourite lip liner. It is the perfect nude for my lip and pairs with light, dark, pink or brown nudes. It lasts hours on my lips even through eating and applies so smoothly. I also have a red from this line which I love too but will definitely be buying some more soon!

5. YSL Rouge Volupte - 32

The packaging on this lipstick is everything and the colour is the perfect brighter pink. The product itself is quite sheer but perfect for spring and is very moisturising. My first YSL product but definitely not my last!

6. MAC Single Eyeshadow's - Woodwinked (Left) and Cork (Right)

I've had both of these shadows for quite a while, especially Woodwinked yet have only rediscovered this again recently. Cork is the shade that I've been using as my crease shade all month, every single day and its the perfect neutral brown shade. I haven't been buying any MAC shadows for a while just because I know there are so many same quality shadows for a fraction of the price however I already have these and I do love them.

7. Nars Duo - Laguna Bronzer and Orgasm Blush

I got this mini duo last year in new york and have only really been using it this year. As you can see i've recently hit pan on Laguna as it's the perfect summer bronze shade with a slight shimmer to it. I also really like Orgasm blush but am scared to use these two shades together as I feel my face becomes quite shimmery, however alone they are perfect!

8. Gerard Cosmetics Lipstick - 1995

I recently did a post about this as I purchased four Gerard Cosmetics items and this has definitely proven to be my favourite so far. Designed by one of my favourite YouTuber's Jaclyn Hill, this lipstick is that Kylie Jenner look that everyone wanted however slightly more brown. Perfect for a more glam evening look.

So that's all of my March Favourites, quite a lot of lip products! April for me will be all about colours and all about the drugstore! What have you been loving this month? Let me know in the comments!
Hope you enjoyed,

Cinderella Makeup Look

Hey Guys!
Following the release of the new Cinderella film and the MAC collection I thought I'd do a Cinderella makeup tutorial! I'll be explaining more the products I used other than the techniques so I hope you enjoy!

So starting with the face... I used Kiko Perfect Base Corrector for primer to make my foundation application easier to apply. I then used my ever trusting L'oreal True Match foundation in the shade Rose Beige all over the face. I moved onto the eyes and used my MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ochre. I then went over this with my MAC Paint Pot in Chrome Angel as this made the perfect silver glitter base I wanted.

For shadows I used MAC Cork in my crease a Morphe Brushes shadow in the shade 29 on the lid. I then went over the lid with Kiko Colour Sphere - 34 which is incredibly glittery so be careful with this product! I then lined my top lash line with Soap and Glory - Supercat and lined my water line in a white eyeliner. I smoked out my lower lash line slightly with Cork.

Moving back onto the face, I used my MAC Pro Longwear Concealer - NW20 under my eyes and slightly down my nose, on my chin and around my nose. I then went in with Benefit Hoola Bronzer for a light bronzed contour. I used MAC Desert Rose Blush and then blended these two out together. On top of this I used a light dusting of MAC Soft and Gentle Mineralize Skinfinish above my cheekbones as a highlight.

I then slightly filled in my brows with the Sleek Brow Kit in Dark and then finished of my face with MAC Studio Careblend Pressed Powder- Medium. Moving back onto the eyes, I used Benefit They're Real Mascara on my top lashes and used Maybelline Great Lash on my lower lashes.

I lined my lips with MAC In Anticipation Lip Liner and went over this with MAC Royal Ball Lipstick from the recent Cinderella collection. I added a bit of Gerard Cosmetics Butter Cream Gloss in the centre of my lips and then set everything with my Kiko Face Makeup Fixer and the look was complete!

A really simple girly look which can be recreated with so many products. What look do you think I should do next? I want to start using more drugstore products so will do a complete drugstore tutorial soon. Hope you enjoyed!

Gerard Cosmetics - Swatches and Review

Hi Guys!
I recently made an order with Gerard Cosmetics as there were so many good offers going around for their site. Ever since Jaclyn Hill mentioned them in her videos and then created her own shades with them I knew I had to have them! I got 2 lipsticks, 1 in 1995 and 1 in Berry Smoothie and 2 lip glosses in Butter Cream and Rose Hill.

The Lipsticks - 1995 (Left), Berry Smoothie (Right)

I got 1995 as it is the lipstick shade Jaclyn Hill created with Gerard Cosmetics and if Jaclyn has it, I want it. It's that everyday 'Kylie Jenner' shade and its so creamy and pigmented, I personally love it! It's similar to Velvet Teddy from MAC but more creamy. I also picked up Berry Smoothie which at first I was worried that it was too similar to 1995 but it's got much more rose undertones and is perfect paired with Whirl lipliner! (What isn't?) Definitely will be purchasing some more of these lipsticks as they worked out to less than £10 each and included from worldwide shipping.

1995 (Left), Berry Smoothie (Right)

The Lipglosses  - Rose Hill (Left), Butter Cream (Right)

Surprise surprise, both of these are Jaclyn Hill's creation with Gerard and they are incredible. They're not sticky like a lot of glosses but at the same time remain incredibly pigmented. The packaging is so cute as the tubes have a little mirror on the sides and you might be able to see that the lid lights up when you unscrew it so that you can apply your gloss in the dark/wherever you are. My next gloss I buy will definitely be Nude as I love the consistency of these and Nude is always so raved about.

Rose Hill (Left), Butter Cream (Right)

That's all I got from Gerard Cosmetics for now! Definitely check them out at the moment while they've got such good deals on, it makes everything so much more affordable!
Hope you enjoyed,

March Haul - YSL, MAC Cinderella, Kiko

Hello!
I've been doing a little bit of shopping recently and haven't got much but its all things I'm very excited about! Its a mix of online shopping, duty free and the Cinderella lipsticks I was on a crazy hunt for and ended up getting them when on holiday in Ireland this weekend! So let's get into it...

YSL Rouge Volupte - 32

This is probably the prettiest thing I have ever owned in my life. I've always always always wanted a YSL Lipstick but could never justify the cost so when we were in duty free my mum got this for me as a present and it was only £20.50 instead of £26. The packaging is amazing and so is the product. I got the shade 32 as it was the perfect pink shade for me and is so moisturising but still long wearing as it is more than a coloured lip balm. My dream would be to have every shade YSL has ever made but I've got a long way to go! For now this will definitely do...

MAC Cinderlla Lipsticks - Free As A Butterfly (Left) and Royal Ball (Right)

The struggle I went through to get these was real. I really wanted the Stroke of Midnight Eyeshadow Palette and still do but it seems to have sold out everywhere! Anyway, the lipsticks... Aside from the obviously stunning packaging and  hype around these colours I do really love the shade of Royal Ball. I am not too sure on Free As A Butterfly as it seems like a sheer wash of glitter however I have only swatched them and am yet to try them on so I will let you know what I think!

Kiko Cosmetics - Face Makeup Fixer,  Ultra Tech Mascara, 225 Nail Varnish, Tweezers

I was incredibly intrigued by the Face Makeup Fixer as it was something I'd never heard of before so I thought I'd give it a try. It's described as a 'Fragrance-free make up fixer spray' on the website however spraying it comes off with a very strong industrial alcohol smell, almost like a really cheap, strong hairspray scent. I am yet to try it on my face but hoping it isn't just an oversold hairspray.

I'm a big fan of trying new mascaras as I go through them quickly so I like drugstore mascaras that do the job. I added the Ultra Tech Mascara to my basket as I tried a Kiko mascara before and loved it. It has a flexible want and the website states 'Its longer, "comb effect" bristles make your lashes longer, more separated and defined.' I'm getting to the end of both of my high end mascaras so hopefully this will be a good replacement!

I also got a nail varnish which is in the shade 225. It a beautiful purple shade with coloured glitters throughout it and I've always been a fan of Kiko nail varnishes so had to pick this up!

Then lastly I just got some new tweezers. I normally use Revlon tweezers but have misplaced them and the ones I'm using at the moment I can't get used to so it makes doing my eyebrows a huge ordeal! This ones weren't too pricey so again, I thought I'd try them out.

That's all the beauty products I've got so far this month! Definitely going to try and purchase drugstore make up more from now on however it is my birthday in a month so we'll see what happens! What new products have you picked up recently?
Hope you enjoyed!

MAC Mehr Lipstick Review

Hello!
I recently posted on my Instagram (@lasheslinerlove) that I had gained a new lipstick to my MAC collection in the shade Mehr! I had 6 empty MAC products which you can see in my recent Empties post and so I went down to my local MAC counter and did Back to MAC. Back to MAC is where you take 6 empty product packaging in replace for a new lipstick, basically helping you to help them! I love this scheme as I feel like it makes it worth paying that extra bit of money for MAC products! It did take me a while to get through the products but felt so worth it when I picked out my new lipstick! So Mehr....

I browsed the lipstick stand for a while knowing that I wanted a nude pinky matte shade, I was temped by Please Me but couldn't stop looking at Mehr. It's a shade i'd never heard of before and couldn't believe that as its beautiful! It's a sort of 'Kylie Jenner' lip but a bit more brown and matches perfectly with my MAC Whirl Lipliner.

I am yet to try a MAC lipstick that I don't like and always looking to build up my collection so I thought this was a great staple colour as it can be worn everyday but also paired with a more intense makeup look for a night out or special occasion.

So that's Mehr! What MAC lipstick should I look at buying next? Or are there any good dupes out there? I'm really looking to try new brands at the moment!
Hope you enjoyed this post and it was helpful.

5 Makeup Products Under £5

Hey everyone!
As i've been trying to not buy makeup recently i've been trying to shop my collection and recently I found some great drugstore products that I had forgot about! I wanted to share them with you in a 5 makeup products under £5 post as I thought it was a great way for money saving beauty lovers! I will also be doing 10 products under £10 soon but for now here are these little beauties...

1. Maybelline Color Tattoo 24hr - 70 Metallic Pomegranate - £4.99

This is quite a new product for me and I have only used it twice. It is my only product from this collection but now I want so many more! I love this shade as it is not too bold yet is in no way neutral so encourages me to venture out more to the bright side! As for the actual product, it did seem to last the majority of the day without fading, creasing or flaking which is perfect especially for it's price!

2. MUA Undress Your Skin Shimmer Highlighter - Iridescent Gold - £3.00

Again this is a newer purchase for me as I was desperate to get my hands on the pinker shade however this was all they had in my local Superdrug and for £3.00 I picked it up anyway. This is a very glittery highlight and can look just like glitter instead of a highlighting shimmer however in the right light this can look to die for! I still want to get the rose shade to see how it compares but for £3.00 it really can give an intense highlight.

3. Milani Lipsticks - 11 Fruit Punch, 26 Nude Crème, 27 Dulce Caramelo - $5.99 (£3.98 approx)

I got these last year while away on holiday as they don't sell Milani in stores here in the UK. I LOVE these lipsticks as they are so pigmented and smell like watermelon. These were the only 3 they had left in store where I was but I'm dying to get my hands on some more Milani lipsticks, especially their new matte range. I love the gold packaging and my favourite lipstick out of the 3 I own is Nude Crème as it is the perfect nude shade for me, love!

4. NYC Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder - 720A Sunny - £1.99

This is such a staple piece in mine and I think a lot of other beauty lover's collections! Definitely one of the cheapest products in my collection but there's nothing that shows that! The product is definitely a bronzer and not a contouring powder as it has quite orangey brown undertone but it's perfect for that effortless summer matte look, I think I will always repurchase this bronzer.

5. Maybelline Great Lash Mascara - Blackest Black - £4.99

Growing up whenever I was allowed to wear makeup, this product always sticks out as being something I would wear. Because of this it was one of the first makeup products I purchased myself and I've always had him in my collection since! I used to use this on all of my lashes as when I was younger it would provide me with the perfect natural lash look however now that I prefer a more fuller lash, I only use this on my bottom lashes. It has a very thin wand and also thin consistency of product which makes it perfect for using on my bottom lashes and I use it almost every single day!

So that is the end of my 5 Makeup Products for Under £5! What did you think? Would a £10 version still be beneficial? Personally I love beauty related posts that help me to save money so hopefully you will too!
Hope you enjoyed reading this,

Naked Basics Tutorial - Neutral Smokey Eye

Hi Guys!
One of the things I want to start posting more on my blog are tutorials however I find them very hard to take pictures of so maybe soon I will start video tutorials and venture into the world of YouTube!
I'm going to be doing a tutorial today just focusing on the eyes and using my Urban Decay Naked Basics palette. I only have the 1st palette but am dying to get my hands on the 2nd one, so let's get into the tutorial....

I started by doing the rest of my face makeup off camera and just leaving one eye bare - using the first eye as a guide. I'll be doing a tutorial soon of an everyday makeup look but for now it's all about the eyes! So I started by applying a layer of MAC Paintpot in Soft Ochre over my eyelid to help my shadows stay and apply better. (Side note: PLEASE ignore my eyebrows - I'm trying to grow them out!)

Once I had applying my Paintpot I picked up the shade Naked 2 from the Naked Basics palette which is definitely my favourite shade! I used my Morphe Brushes blending brush in B81 which is new to my collection and I absolutely love it!

I used this shade in the crease and applied it from left to right all over my crease to use as my transition shade in-between colours. I kept going over this until there was no more product on the brush and still continued to blend with the same B81 brush.

Next I picked up the shade Faint from the palette which is a darker milk chocolate brown. These shades are so pigmented so you only need a little bit of product on your brush. The brush I used for this step was the Morphe Brushes B80 which is the exact same brush as the B81, just thinner with less hairs. I used this shade to create an outer V on my crease and then went back in with the B81 brush and Naked 2 to blend everything out.

For the lid I took my MAC 239 brush and used the shade W.O.S for a lighter colour to make my eyes look brighter and more awake. I then again blended over the crease with my B81 to make everything start to come together. I then applied a thin layer of liquid liner and pencil liner in my water line and also applied mascara to my top and bottom lashes. To tie everything together I used my MAC pencil brush from the Kelly Osbourne collection to blend a bit of Faint underneath my lower lash line.

And that's the end of the tutorial! It's very quick and honestly very easy, it took me less than 10 minutes to create this look! If I was going out at night or somewhere more formal with this look then I would have applied thicker liner and also false lashes but at the moment I quite like keeping it simple!
Hope you enjoyed this post, i'll hopefully have some more tutorials up soon!

February Favourites

Hello!
I can't believe how quick February went, feels like only a couple of days ago I posted my January favs! So for the end of the month I gave up buying makeup.... I'm a student so I'm on a very tight budget and kept buying so much during the first few weeks of February but so far it's going well! Of course being February, many stores released a Valentine's Day collection but I only got my hands on a few Lush products for Valentine's day. So here's what I've been loving this month....

Eylure Lashes 101/107

When people say 'only start wearing lashes if you're ready to be addicted to them' listen to these people! Eylure have always been a brand I love for false lashes as they're so affordable, come in a wide variation of styles and are very easy to apply. As you can see I tend to buy mine in packs of 3/4/5 etc as you get a better value for money. These two styles are my current favourites with the 101s being quite a bit more lightweight and natural where as 107s are still natural looking but just a bit fuller, especially at the end. I use Duo lash glue in dark to apply these lashes and they always seem to last all day or night!

MAC Lily-White Pigment

I got this pigment about 8 months ago on holiday in St Lucia as I desperately wanted to buy it but it had sold out in the UK! It was released with the Fantasy of Flowers collection and straight away was a top seller. I only own one other MAC Pigment but this just makes me want to buy them all! It is so pigmented, especially when applied with MAC Fix+ and the shade is the perfect yellow/white hence the name! I love using this all over the lid with darker colours in the crease.

MAC Velvet Teddy Lipstick

This is a lipstick that I've had for a year now but never really knew what to do with it. Personally I thought that this was too brown for my complexion but as soon as I got the perfect nude lipliner sorted I knew I immediately loved this lipstick. It is a more browny nude but is a lipstick that you can pair with some many liners and other lipsticks, it can make any makeup look come together and look beautiful.

Morphe Brushes Blending Brushes - B80, B81, M139

I have always been the biggest fan of MACs 217 Blending Brush however recently the hair on my brush became quite stiff and blending with this brush could hurt my eyelids. In a recent Morphe Brushes purchase I picked up some of their blending brushes which were only around £2 each, a fraction of MAC prices! The ones that I am currently using and loving are B80, B81 and M139. These brushes honestly blend any shadow out perfectly and their shapes allow for perfect movement, they are also so so so soft!

Lush Valentines Day - Prince Charming, The Kiss Lip Scrub

Last year was when I only really got into loving lush. I'd always tried out products from them but would never bother with any collections or limited edition products. And how wrong I was! I went into my local lush on Valentine's weekend and it was so busy I only managed to pick up a few things with only 2 of my items being from the Valentine's day collection. I picked up The Kiss Lip Scrub and Prince Charming shower gel. I haven't used the lip scrub yet as I'm trying to use up my Bubblegum lip scrub from lush however I LOVE the shower gel. It is very thick and very sweet and almost smells like Jelly Tots mixed with Jaffa Cakes!? Either way I only picked up a small bottle as I'm in between about 5 shower gels at the moment and I wish I picked up a bigger bottle!

Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paint- Lychee

This is my second bottle of Lychee as I lost my last one! It was very well used anyway so I wasn't too fussed but as soon as I realised I'd lost it I knew I had to buy a new one ASAP! Lychee is part of the Gelly collection from Barry M which means it has a very glossy finish to it and doesn't necessarily need a top coat. The colour to me is the perfect nude shade and it's perfect all year round, I can't put it down at the moment!

Morphe Brushes Eyeshadows

I recently did a a post on my Morphe Brushes Eyeshadow Swatches as I had just ordered 15 shadows and I am in LOVE with them all. They are all so creamy and pigmented and honesty replicate MAC shadows however they're only £1/£2 rather than £15. I've chosen my favourite 9 which I'm currently loving and these are (going from left to right in each row starting at the top) Secretive, Velveteen, Porcelain, Gun Powder, Radiance, Bronzed Ivy, Starlight, Pretty in Pink, 80. I love all of the shades that I own and will definitely be making another purchase soon when I'm allowed to by more Makeup!

So that's all for February! I can't believe it's already March?! What have you guys been loving over the past month? Let me know and I'll check it out!

Hope you enjoyed,
Speak soon.
